As a homeware and living concept, the pieces journey through Ghana’s regions and long-established artisanal techniques; seamlessly marrying together the richness of the traditional with the sensibility of the contemporary. The designs themselves playfully explore shape, scale and material to offer an innovative yet relatable homely aesthetic.  

 

Over the last few years, Ghanaian/British Interior and Product Designer Natalie Anderson has traversed the country, purposefully and attentively creating products which speak not only to function but a sense of pride and inspiration. Prior to this, Natalie founded DESIGNEXPRESS in 2007 which has since established its presence as a leading Interior Design and Build Firm in Ghana. Her passion, understanding and respect for Design and its processes are evident in the spaces she creates. This personal element weaves through and underpins the Akese design philosophy which essentially aims to spark moments of life and character in the home space. 

 

Released seasonally, the Akese Homeware collection is an invitation to own and experience limited edition exclusive pieces. Every attention is paid to detail and the assurance of quality is beautifully evident in both the manufacturing and final product. Never static, the vision for the brand is to continue to grow and explore - creating outstanding products with some of the country’s best artisans and indigenous techniques.
